THE MINISTRY OF PASTOR MARLON LOCK

On June 23, 1981, at the age of 5, the Lord spoke to Marlon and asked him to preach His word. Without hesitation, he said yes. Pastor Marlon Lock delivered his first sermon at age 10 and also sang: “Walk Around Heaven”, by The Mighty Clouds of Joy. Since then, he’s been preaching, singing and playing drums at the church he grew up, belongs to and now oversees.

Pastor Marlon Lock graduated from the Milwaukee Police Academy, and served as a Police Officer for 4 years, until he resigned to be the Assistant Pastor of
Unity Gospel House of Prayer. On April 8th 2009, Marlon Lock became the Pastor of Unity Gospel House of Prayer, in lieu of the passing of his beloved grandfather, Elbridge Lock (who founded Unity Gospel House of Prayer over 43 years ago).

He cherishes being a dedicated husband to his wife Kimberly R. Lock, a published author, who plays a vital role in the ministry and operation of the church. Sharing in their joy are five beautiful children.

Pastor Lock is committed to winning souls for Christ. Inspiringly he uses wit and prior experience to demonstrate and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ with practical teaching applications. He is considered a “life changer” for today’s generation. He pastors and oversees a congregation of approximately 2,500 members. Pastor Lock is adamant about remaining in the community. As such, the congregation is following his vision and is currently in the process of renovating and building a multi-purpose facility and gymnasium. The goal is to buildup and provide much needed resources for the betterment of the community.

Regardless of the platform given, Pastor Lock continues to promote the unadulterated word of God, lead God’s people and impart into all, that if you “obey God, He will bless you real good!” (OGHBYRG, pronounced: AWG-BERG)

THE MUSIC OF PASTOR LOCK

Who allows an album featuring a song of deliverance to debut on the Gospel Billboard charts at No.19? Only God Can! The debut CD from Pastor Lock entitled: “The Good Seed Project” began distribution (physical and digital) through Central South Distribution on May 11, 2015. It debuted on the Billboard charts of top gospel albums at No. 19, on May 19, 2015, with the quartet vibe of his current single: “He Delivered Me.” The Good Seed Project is nominated in 2 categories for the 2016 Stellar Awards: New Artist of the Year and Traditional CD of the year! On his next single, “Hang On,” Pastor Lock encourages the listening audience to not let go of God’s unchanging hand. The song is a societal song, inspired by the many challenges the world face today. It is produced by 9 time Grammy Award winning producer, Kevin Bond.

Pastor MARLON Lock understands what it takes to hold on to God’s hand through difficult situations. As a youth, he dealt with mistreatment of a daycare provider (which lead to one of his greatest blessings in disguise – his grandparents raising him from 15 months up through adulthood), childhood obesity, the loss of his dad at the age of 10 from a heroin overdose, the incarceration of his brother, suicidal thoughts (making plans to take his own life, with his own gun as a police officer), and then the loss of his beloved grandparents.

Pastor Lock has ministered at events such as the 2016 Stellar Awards Pre-show, 2015 MegaFest Mega Indie event, the 2015 Stellar Awards Radio Show, 2015 McDonald’s 365 Inspirational Gospel Tour (Milwaukee), Radio One’s “Be Beautiful” Conference in Philadelphia, and Rejoice Musical Soulfood Live, to name a few!
