On June 23, 1981, at the age of 5, the Lord spoke to Marlon and asked him to preach His word. Without hesitation, he said yes. Pastor Marlon Lock delivered his first sermon at age 10 and also sang: “Walk Around Heaven”, by The Mighty Clouds of Joy. Since then, he’s been ministering and singing at the church he grew up, belongs to, and now oversees.
Marlon graduated from the Milwaukee Police Academy, and served as a Police Officer for 5 years, until he resigned to become the Assistant Pastor of Unity Gospel House of Prayer. On April 8th, 2009, Marlon Lock became the Pastor of Unity Gospel House of Prayer, in lieu of the passing of his beloved grandfather, Elbridge Lock (who founded Unity Gospel House of Prayer in 1973).
In May of 2015, Marlon released his debut album entitled: The Good Seed Project. The album debuted on the Billboard charts of top gospel albums at No. 19, and was also nominated in 2 categories, for the 2016 Stellar Awards: “New Artist of the Year” and “Traditional CD of the Year.” As a recording artist, Marlon has been honored to share the stage with many influential gospel artists including Dorinda Clark-Cole, Jonathan McReynolds, Brian Courtney Wilson, Myron Butler, Melvin Williams, Anthony Brown and Group Therapy, and Tim Bowman Jr., just to name a few. In 2016, Marlon also became a certified Health & Wellness coach through HCI (Health Coach Institute). He also received certification in John Maxwell’s “The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.”
In March of 2019, Marlon released his first book entitled Day By Day, which is a 365 day journal that provides daily dosages of affirmations to help readers reach beyond the fears of fear itself, commitment, self-worth, and the capacity to stretch beyond what they can dare to dream. In his writing and speaking, Marlon uses occurrences from his daily life to encourage others.
Marlon cherishes being a dedicated husband to his wife Kimberly Lock; sharing in their joy are five beautiful children.
